Kindersoccer

Kindersoccer is a Parent and Tot program where players will be given the opportunity to play introductory soccer skill building games.  This program will include one parent and tot session a week.  Kindersoccer has limited space 20 players per group.

Under 6 and Under 8

Meridian Youth Soccer Association is excited about the programming that is being offered this fall and winter season. This indoor season Under 6 and Under 8 soccer will include a practice and a game per week.

This is the most important age group to foster enjoyment and start introducing skills to our players thus a practice/week is a must.  All games will be played at the Commonwealth Center and the format of the games is 3 players vs 3 players in U6 and 4 players vs 4 players in U8. In U6 there is no goalies but in U8 there will be goalkeepers added who are also encouraged to move out of goal. The purpose of 3 vs 3 in U6 games is to allow for more opportunity for players to keep the ball and to encourage dribbling and shooting. By having no goalies this will also reward our young players who  can keep the ball and shoot on target. In U8 games, goalies are added. The goalie however is encouraged to move up from goal and to use their feet. All players are given opportunity to rotate through the goalie position. The focus is still individual ball control but now when playing games each player will have to be a little more clever to score as there is a goal keeper in net.

The best time for kids to learn soccer tricks and skills is at these young ages. The Rustlers Development Program is introducing the U6 & U8 RDP Academy this indoor season for anyone who wants there kids to learn soccer skills, tricks and have fun in the game of soccer. In a positive environment with the emphasis on enjoyment and skill development, we will have an extra 3-4 practices a month. All practices will be structured with age appropriate game like activities and overseen by the MYSA Technical Director, Kevin Wagner. This program will be an additional cost and will start after the city league begins.  A registration night will be hosted during the first league night of City League.

Under 10  through Under 16

Meridian Youth Soccer Association is excited about the programming that is being offered this fall and winter season. This indoor season from Under 10-Under 16 there will now be programming for two distinct groups of players. Both groups have merit but different needs. There will be City League play for players that are less committed to the game of soccer and there will be Rustlers Development Program for players who are committed to the game of soccer. City league will have a practice and game a week  and RDP will include 3 training sessions per week. In these sessions will include practices as well as games against other RDP  players.

RDP will run as a Club from U6-U16 age groups with the emphasis on individual skill development, group development , then team development. If a player is committed to development in our game than the RDP is for you!

All players do try out for RDP however they are trying out to be part of the Program , not a team. All players will be put into programs rather than a single team. All players in each age group of the program will always train together. There will be opportunity to enter tournaments however only at this point will players then be taken out of the program and entered as a team  for that event. After the tournament is complete the players will be monitored but always return back into the program as a group.

Under 18
MYSA will once again be offering an Under 18 RDP program for players born in 1994 & 1995.  This program will compete in the Adult Ladies Competitive League.  This program will run in conjunction with the Lakelend Rustlers United Program under the direction of Kevin Wagner.
